Getting through Doha airport was a breeze, it seems to run so much more efficiently than any airport I’ve been to before.

The remaining 2210 mile flight to Kilimanjaro was almost empty and largely uneventful. Lucia managed to get a good sleep, me not so much but we landed safely at 3pm local time.

The next leg of the journey was an hour and a half transfer in a rattly old Toyota as you’d expect. The first part of the journey was on actual road which was nice but the approach to Ilboru was, let’s just say… interesting!

Arrived at our Safari lodge, fairly stinking and we were both really grateful for a shower.

So after a mammoth journey, a beer at the pool was in order.

So now we’ll just chill out in the 26 degree sunshine, updates to come tomorrow
